After three weeks on our road trip, we are home. We traveled 3,634 miles and we visited Asheville, Nashville, Memphis, Clarksdale, Natchez, New Orleans, Panama City, and Sarasota.

This past weekend we had the pleasure of attending a family weeding in Sarasota. The entire weekend was wonderful and the wedding was a beautiful event.
We are members of Freedom Boat Club. One of the benefits of the club is reciprocal rentals outside of our local club. Last Tuesday, we spent a few hours boating in Panama City. We decided on that location since it was a good halfway point between New Orleans and Sarasota.
We arrived at our Airbnb in Sarasota Wednesday around 1:00. On Tuesday morning, I received notification that the original property we reserved had a plumbing problem and we had to cancel. We selected our new place on Tuesday night as we were driving south from Panama City. The one huge benefit of the new AirBNB is a swimming pool, we took advantage of it.

The house was perfect for us – Jane and me, my mother, my sisters, and my brother-in-law.
We went boating on Thursday out of Regatta Point Marina in Bradenton. We anchored off of Passage Key, where we discovered it is a popular place for nude boaters. We kept our clothes on.

Thursday night we had a lovely dinner at Shore in St. Armands Circle.
Friday we boated out of Marina Jack in Sarasota. We anchored off a key for awhile and also went cruising on the Intercostal Waterway.

The rehearsal dinner on Friday night took place in the banquet room at Marina Jack. Saturday was spent in the pool. The wedding took place at The Westin Sarasota, it was a beautiful event and we did a lot of dancing. It was great hanging with family.

The drive from Sarasota to Rehoboth Beach is a little over 1000 miles. We drove 11 hours Sunday and spent the night in a Fairfield Inn in Rocky Mount, NC. The drive home today was only 5 1/2 hours.
After all the travel we have done since February, it is great to be home, especially now that we are in the midst of baseball season.
Until our next trip…
