Back at the hotel after spending most of our first full day in Bangkok visiting different Wats (Buddhist temples).
Our first stop was the Grand Palace, the official residents of the Kings of Siam (now Thailand) since 1782. Over 8 million people visit the Grand Palace annually and the complex’s contains numerous gardens and buildings including the Emerald Buddha.

We then walked over to Wat Pho, the home of the Reclining Buddha. Again the grounds for the Wat are huge.

We took a water taxi across Chao Prada River to get to Wat Arun (the Temple of Dawn). We were able to climb the steps of its Central Prang.

We also walked through Pak Khlong Talat (flower market).

Yesterday, after arriving in Bangkok and checking into the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel we took a longtail boat and headed out to Khao San Road Night Market. After walking around for a bit we each purchased a pair of pants. I wore mine today to visit the Wats since no shorts are allowed. We had a nice Thai dinner with Singha Beers. We rode a tuk tuk back to the hotel last night.

We will be heading out in the next couple of hours to enjoy the Bangkok nightlife.
